8: About Darkness and Light
From Touching
the Clouds: Encouraging Stories to Make Your Faith
Soar
I once heard Dr. Joseph Bayly, who had experienced the death
of three children, say, “Never forget in the dark what
you have learned in the light.”
God never intended us to know everything, but He will reveal
to us all we need to know. If we knew and understood everything,
we’d have no need for faith. In our own minds and hearts,
God would be diminished. Some things we’re not able
to understand anyway, and some things are best left unknown.
So, in His time, God may disclose some things to us, but
in some instances, His love gift may be silence. The most
important thing to remember is that we never walk alone.
He has promised, “I will never desert you, nor will
I ever forsake you” (Hebrews 13: 5 NASB).
