Fran is a member of AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers
Association ) and the Christian Writers Fellowship International. Her latest book is Touching the Clouds, Encouraging Stories to Make your Faith Soar (NavPress, July, 2003). She previously authored the book, See You Later, Jeffrey, (Tyndale House, 1988), which has been translated into
Russian. She contributed a chapter to The Strength of a Woman, edited by Linda McGinn (Broadman & Holman, 1994),
and edited Drawing Closer, Growing Stronger,Making the Most of Your Walk With God by Don Anderson (Multnomah, 1998). She is
one of five Greenville writers-- “Hens with Pens”-- who co-authored the recent best-selling book, Courage for the Chicken Hearted Honor Books, 1998) and its sequel, Eggstra Courage for the Chicken-Hearted (Honor Books, 1999). Both are being offered in hardback as a set from Guideposts.
She has contributed devotionals to: Seasons of a Woman’s Heart (’99) and Treasures of a Woman’s Heart (2000) (Starburst Publishers); In the Garden With God (Honor Books, 2000) and Christmas with God (Honor Books, 2000) and Silver and Gold (NavPress, 2003), Intimate Moments With God (Cook Communications, 2003), and Intimate Encounters With God (Cook Communications, 2003).
Her articles have appeared in numerous magazines including: Decision, Moody, Virtue, Home Life, Aspire, The Joyful Woman, Journal of Christian Nursing, Focus on the Family Physician, Christian Medical and Dental Society Journal, Pray, The Christian Communicator, The Cross and Quill
and many others.
Fran works part-time as a registered nurse and medical transcriptionist. In her church, she serves as organist,
is active in Women’s Ministries, and assists her husband in teaching a couples’ class. Fran and her physician-husband, Dr. James Sandin, are parents of an adult son and a married daughter; and grandparents to
two granddaughters and a grandson. Their son, Jeffrey, awaits them in heaven. Fran is a speaker for ladies’ groups and has been interviewed in regard to her books on both radio and television stations in the
U.S. and in Canada.
